Terms of service

Written to describe how Reelgate actually works, not by a lawyer. It has not been through legal review and is not a binding agreement. Have counsel review it before you rely on it.

Who these terms are between

These terms are between Reelgate and the person or organisation that creates a workspace. People who only watch a video through a share link are viewers, not account holders, and are covered by the privacy policy rather than by these terms.

Your content stays yours

You keep every right to the video you upload. Reelgate stores it, prepares streaming renditions of it and delivers it only to the people your share links allow. We do not use your video to train anything, and we do not show it to anyone you have not given a link to.

What a share link does

Each link carries its own access rule, expiry and view ceiling. Revoking a link refuses new playback tokens immediately and stops connected players within a few seconds. A link you have already sent cannot be un-sent, but it can be closed at any time.

Watermarking is deterrence, not forensics

The viewer's identity is drawn over the picture by the player at playback time. It discourages casual re-sharing and it survives a screen recording, but it is not forensic watermarking: it is not embedded in the video data and it can be cropped out. Reelgate does not claim otherwise, and you should not rely on it as proof of who leaked something.

Plans, periods and payment

Paid plans run in 30-day periods, or 365 days if you choose annual. Payment is taken through Paymob; Reelgate never sees or stores your card number. Prices shown exclude any tax your jurisdiction adds.

Trials

A workspace may take one 14-day Studio trial, once. No card is required and nothing is charged when it ends — the workspace simply returns to Free.

Cancelling

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep the plan you paid for until the period you already paid for runs out, and you can undo the cancellation at any point before then.

If a payment fails

A failed renewal opens a seven-day grace window. During it, nothing is switched off: you can sign in, your library is intact and your viewers can still watch. If the window closes without payment, the workspace returns to Free and new playback stops. Your videos and your data are not deleted.

Quotas

Every plan has a storage ceiling, a maximum file size and a delivery allowance for each billing period. Reaching the delivery allowance pauses new playback for viewers; it does not lock you out, hide your library or delete anything. You will be told which limit you reached.

Downgrading

A plan change is refused if the workspace is already using more than the smaller plan allows. We would rather refuse the change than delete your videos or cut off your viewers to make the numbers fit.

Acceptable use

Do not upload material you have no right to distribute, and do not use Reelgate to share content that is illegal where you or your viewers are. We do not monitor the content of your videos, but we will act on a credible report.

Availability

Reelgate is in beta. We do not offer an uptime guarantee, and you should not use it as the only copy of anything you cannot lose.

Ending your account

You can delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend a workspace that is being used to break these terms, and will say why when we do.
